#CORSAIR VENGEANCE 1500 SOFTWARE VERSIONS SOFTWARE#
With the sound mode in war tapes, gunshots became scarily realistic, although I will admit that I had to turn up the 3 lowest frequency sound levels in the FPS gaming mode in the corsair software for best performance, but that's easily done. Explosions behind me sent shrapnel flying over my head and on quiet maps, even reloads were enough to give away enemy positions. While playing BF3 I noticed that I was easily able to hear where people were. I have used the headset for everything from watching movies to listening to music to talking to friends over skype to gaming, and it excels in every area. The Bass is strong and commanding, while the high notes are crisp and warm. In terms of performance, I can honestly say that I have never tried a headset as good as the 1500, not even the Senheiser PC360's with a D2X soundcard. The glowing LED's on the volumeMIC control are a nice touch and make finding it during a dark gaming session really easy. The chromed metal arms and faux-leather headband look good, and seem to be able to stand up to plenty of use without tarnishing. Personally I like the looks of the Vengeance headset. One thing that I did have to get used to with the control is that the top button lowers the volume, but once I had, adjusting the volume in game is really quick and easy. The only complaint that I have is that the MIC doesn't auto-mute when you swivel it back up, but that's not really an issue, especially not with the inline control. There is a nicely braided cable that is soft and flexible enough out of the box that it doesn't twist the headset of get in the way, and the velcro strip on the cable is a nice touch that makes cable management easy. It is flexible enough to allow good positioning, but not so much that it begins to droop. The MIC is ideally place, swiveling down easily with a reassuring ratchet to it. The story was much the same with the Vulcan's, but with the 1500's my ears fit comfortably inside, and feel comfortable even after wearing the headset continuously for 6+ hours. The G35's were comfortable, but after a long gaming session, I noticed that my ears felt a little confined in them. I don't exactly have a small head, with the G35's I had to have the headband extended about half-way to ensure a comfortable fit, but with the 1500's two small clicks on either side is all I need. The first thing that struck me it how big it is. The headset itself felt solid, if a little weighty. No gimiky case, no stickers, just exactly what needed to be there and, thankfully, nothing else. Inside there was the headset, a leaflet directing me to corsairs website to get the drivers, and my warranty information. Un-boxing the headset, I was pleased to note that the packaging, although substantial, was easy to remove.

after returning them and the soundcard that I had purchased to accompany them, I purchased a pair of Vengeance 1500's that were on sale and things began to improve. Turns out that it's a manufacturing error that has been plaguing the headset for the past year. When they arrived, exactly the same issue. I contacted amazon, who sent out a replacement pair on next day shipping. Furthermore, it rapidly became clear that it was not just a case of the sound leaking in from the ear cups, but that the sound was in fact being directly transmitted, and muting the mic only made it worse. Everything was going well until I discovered that the headset was broadcasting every sound from my PC, every explosion or note, through the MIC channel. They seemed great, with nice, strong bass and a generally good sound quality. Luckily they were still under warranty (They were the second replacement set for a pair I bought September last year), and as I had given them 3 opportunities to solve the issue, I decided it was money back time for me.Īfter much deliberation, i settled on a pair of ASUS Vulcan ANC's. The plastic holding the ear cups to the headband cracked, and as a result the entire headset felt loose. First off, my Logitech G35's developed the same issue as the first 2 pairs.

Recently, my luck with headsets has been awful.
